Carrabba’s Culinary Cook-off at Taste of Kennesaw

Heather Jones, Mike SchroederLet the games begin!  Food, food and more food is what the Carrabba’s Culinary Cook-off is all about!  Once a year seniors from local high schools compete for a cash prize of $3000 to help make their dreams of culinary greatness come true!

Last year students from Kennesaw Mountain, North Cobb and Allatoona High Schools took the stage to show off their culinary chops. Each student had one hour to make an entree and side dish on stage at the Taste of Kennesaw.  Each delectable meal was judged by three outstanding chefs and restaurant owners, Mike Schroeder of Carrabba’s, Bill Tarwater of Guston’s and Greg Carter of California Dreaming.  Points were given for creativity, presentation and taste.

The 2013 winner of the Carrabba’s Culinary Cook-off was Heather Jones of Kennesaw Mountain High School!  Heather is attending Chattahoochee Technical College this fall to begin her studies in culinary arts.

The contest is sponsored by Carrabba’s Restaurant and the Kennesaw Business Association, both provide the prize money. The contest is held at the Taste of Kennesaw.  Be sure to enjoy the 2014 Taste of Kennesaw, Saturday September 6 in downtown Kennesaw.
